WHAAAAAAT?! Clay Aiken???! Noooooo!
(what a way to introduce myself, eh?)
Hey everyone. I'm not sure if I already introduced myself, but I'm AladdinsFan-- and I've loved Aladdin since I first saw back in 1992 at that old rickety theater that I think is now closed down.
So the song "Proud of your Boy" is for Aladdin (the first movie)? Seems like something that would be more like it's for the third one, with it being about him and his dad and all.
And oh man-- reading the DVD descriptions is getting me SO excited for the release this fall. Deleted scenes?! Woo hoo! Right on.
Anyway. Go Aladdin!

It's not really a "new" song. It was supposed to be in the first movie, but it was cut out because Aladdin's mom was cut from the script.

Does anyone know why Brad Kane didn't sing the new song instead of Clay Aiken. Brad Kane is an excellent singer and he has done Aladdin's singing voice throughout the years, never deserting disney, like Robin Williams or others. Now they choose aiken to sing this song instead of the wonderful brad Kane. This really pisses me off. They just wanted to get the bigger name. Brad Kane is a better singer than he will ever be!

If Disney wants to do a successful single, Clay Aiken is a much, much better choice than Brad, no matter how talented he is. It's heck of a lot smarter to use a name most people actually know.

I've never read anywhere that Brad Kane didn't record this track. For all I know, his version of it actually is on the DVD. However, if Clay Aiken also has a version of it on the DVD, it only makes sense that Disney will hype his version rather than Brad Kane's, since Clay Aiken is a much bigger name. -Kirsten
