Not sure if I'm should be posting in the news section, but this seemed worthy enough.
My girlfriend just got Lion King 2 on DVD. It had an insert advertising Aladdin Special Edition on DVD as coming 4th October and said "Also available for a limited time only Aladdin Trilogy 4 Disc Collector's Gift Set"!!
Looks like this is the first chance to get Return Of Jafar on DVD! Bit disappointed that ROJ and KOT are only one disc and that there's no mention of the Collector's Edition of Aladdin coming to the UK, but on the whole this is great news. I'd expect a similar box set to be released in the US.
The picture looked to be a mock-up as it was just a plain royal blue box, gold writing "Walt Disney Pictures Presents" logo above the Aladdin logo (that was in a gold border (like on the SE DVD cover but without the pink background), not sure how I'd decribe the shape. "Collector's DVD Gift Set" in gold below the Aladdin logo, followed by the 3 film titles in white, Aladdin was noted as Special Edition). Below them was a solid gold lamp with no detail at all, a whisp of gold smoke coming out. "U" was in the bottom left corner and the "Disney DVD" logo was in gold in the bottom right corner. It's nice but it looks a bit plain, especially compared to the great artwork on the just released Lion King box set so I'm guessing it'll be changed before it gets released.
