It'll come back, in due time. Once Disney/Pixar/Dreamworks or whomever have a CGI bomb, they'll realize that it isn't sure-fire gold.
Hand drawn will likely never totally die, as 2D videogames haven't totally died.

Hand drawn will likely never totally die, as 2D videogames haven't totally died. *hugs Legend of Zelda: Four Swords close to chest* Word. You've got to understand, though, Disney has been all about money as of late. Cel (2D) animation costs unthinkable amounts of money to do - there are thousands, even millions of frames in a single Disney movie, and each of those has to be hand-drawn and colored. The Mouse probably doesn't want to pay hundreds of inbetweeners to do that, and instead hires less people (there are still a lot, but not as many as for cels) to do it all on the computer. Plus, Disney isn't even doing the work. Pixar is, although Disney is funding it.

Disney kind of has to be all about the money now- a lot of their recent stuff, animated or not, as failed.
Treasure Planet, Brother Bear (I think), Home on the Range, The Alamo, Around the World in 80 Days...
I hope Chicken Little does well- it looked pretty good on the Teacher's Pet DVD.
