Yup, it is. ;D It's a flower name, but Jasmine (well, Yasmin, actually) is a pretty normal name there. But the princess's name in the original book was Badr al-Budr ("full moon of full moons"). Isn't there something about adding an "al" with the words. Like it was Ala al-din but you double the constanant after the "al" so you get aladdin or something. I forget what it was I read that said that... (thinks really hard)
